so B and i are having a serious practice run of what it's like to have little kids. my sister-in-law and her husband are in barcelona until sunday. this is their FIRST trip without the kids in FOUR years!
so we're looking after Elise and Issei aka Hana-chan and Beamy. Hana-chan is 4 and Beamy is 16 months... they are SO cute. but BOY is it challenging to juggle meals, changing, car seats, school time, play time, bath time, bed time AND dealing with 16-hour work days to launch a web site. (shameless plug alert: www.mallybeauty.com)
all i have to say is that i'm looking forward to the "real" thing! if anything, this whole experience has made me more excited about the idea of becoming a mom.
my goal within 1 year is to do away with the crazy work schedule and just live a more relaxed life. no more crazy deadlines. i have to! i feel like years of my life are being shaved every second i'm in the internet/web dev advertising industry.
i'm also digging being out in the middle of nowhere. "ithaca is gorges!" LOL. i've got my XM radio and just down the street i've got McDonald's, Target, Borders, Best Buy, Bath & Body Works, and a Regal Cinemas... things are so much more peaceful than the chaos in NYC. (don't get me wrong. i'm still a city girl but it's so nice to have a break.)
yesterday my Palm Treo f-in' pooped out on me! right in the middle of critical launch stuff. i went to the Sprint store in the mall down the street and the representative took care of me in less than 30 minutes AND gave me a loaner phone while i wait for my replacement... when i deal with Sprint stores in the city it takes at LEAST 2 hours to get sorted out!
oh and did i mention that there's snow on the ground? it's a winter wonderland.
ok. that's my blah-blah-blah for now.
