The Fun Four Icons Challenge (5 total)

24-year-old designer Kyle Tezak recently started a personal project that deals with icons. Why? He tells us, “For me, the most satisfying part of being a designer is taking a complex or complicated idea and simplifying it in a way that gives it clarity. I had been creating lots of icons for a project I was working on at the time and spent a lot of time breaking down ideas and objects to their essential parts. I thought it would be fun to do the same with stories: movies, books, and possibly people. The project has been a great way to gain deeper insight and understanding that was lacking in casual viewing or reading.”

I like how Tezak has referred to these icon sets as “tiny poems” or “the meat and potatoes.”

The project is still pretty young so Tezak plans to keep it up for a while. “I still have a bunch of books and movies I'd like to do and other people are throwing out requests all the time,” he says. “No end in sight as of now.”

Can't wait to see more!
