I feel for this poor bloke. As an unskillful snow athelete myself, I've come pretty close to facing the same fate.
In a bizarre incident that will surely lead to litigation (or an out-of-court settlement), a skier at Colorado's ritzy Vail ski resort was left dangling upside down and pantsless from a chairlift last Thursday morning.
The 48 year old skier and his young son (the horror!) boarded a high-speed chairlift. The lift's fold-down seat was not properly lowered, and the man fell through the gap. His right ski got jammed, and he couldn't dislodge his boot from its binding. An abrupt stop of the Skyline Express lift and voila - the now infamous dangle. He was left hanging there for about 15 minutes before they extracted him.
