The 13th annual Webby Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on June 8, 2009. For those of you who don't know, this is what funds Rachel Zoe's endless acquisition of vintage Halston gowns and fur coats (her husband Rodger Berman is the founder of the awards).
Rachel Zoe is my hero and I would never, ever stop watching her BRAVO reality show for as long as I live, or whenever the network cancels it, whichever comes first. But I thought her red carpet interview at the Webbys (by some chick hired by Rodger, with Rodger at her side) was priceless. To use one of her catchphrases, "I, DIE!"
My favorite parts:
"... I feel like everyone in the Webby / in the Internet world is really super chic in that really interesting, eclectic kind of way .. Does that make sense?!"
" ... No! But I mean, let's face it. It's all about the Internet."
When asked, "How do you feel that the Internet is changing your career?" She quipped, "... I actually don't know how I did my job before the Internet, to be honest" before listing a few fashion sites like Style.com. Her Webby hubby quickly steps in to add that she's on Twitter, etc. (and living in 2009) while she mouths "Hi!" to passersby. Trying to get her back on focus, Rodger stares at her square in the eyes, "remember we talked about all that before it happened?" .. while she looks down and thinks about her shoes.
"Twitters is amazing. Facebook is amazing. MySpace is amazing.I'm just still figuring it out now. But it's ... pretty unbelievable."
