Opening Reception: Saturday, February 21st, 7pm-10pm @ The Corey Helford Gallery

Natalia Fabia and the Cory Helford Gallery are really heating up this weekend's art+culture pick of the week. Of Polish descent, Natalia was raised in Southern California where she graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Inspired by ornate interiors, wild animals, voyeurism, punk rock music, and sparkles, Fabia is fascinated with hookers, which fuels her paintings of sultry women.
Hooker DreamEscape is a followup exhibit of last year’s widely acclaimed
Hooker Safari. Fabia’s second solo show at the gallery continues her tales of seduction by revealing the forbidden desires and secret fantasies of her modern-day belle de jours. Providing tongue-in-cheek “dream-escapes” with jewel-toned forests and candy-colored landscapes, the artist creates the ideal environment for her bold seductresses to indulge themselves in life’s little pleasures.
In addition to her new oil-on-board paintings, Natalia will offer a series of lucite chandeliers, featuring custom-charms, limited to 15 signed and numbered pieces. The show will be on view until March 14, 2009, while the opening reception for
Hooker DreamEscape will take place on Saturday, February 21st from 7pm-10pm.
