The World Reacts to Osama bin Laden's Death

We were all shocked yesterday to hear that Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan by U.S. Armed Forces. At that exact moment, one which we will probably never forget, many of us felt a rush of emotion sweeping over. For most Americans, that feeling was filled with joy and exhilaration. After nearly a decade since the tragic attacks on 9/11, justice was finally served.

This significant event is surely one of the most historic in our lives. The only thing that could compare would be the death of Hitler, who committed suicide by gunshot on April 30, 1945. Coincidentally, their deaths were both announced on the very same day - May 1.

But reactions weren't necessarily the same for everyone across the globe. Many people have mixed feelings about celebrating a person's death. And then, on the polar opposite spectrum, there are those extremists in the Middle East who condemn the killing and have made Osama bin Laden a martyr.

Photojournalists around the world have taken incredible shots of people's reactions to the news of Osama bin Laden's death.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - but please do not for one minute portray him as a martyr. He was a cold blooded killer. A rich boy who manipulated people to gain power and serve his own ends. Stare at the picture of Douglas Sidialo above and you will see how innocents have suffered from him. The United States has never been totally innocent in all the things we have done - no country ever has - but Osama bin Laden got exactly what he deserved.

This will definitely go down in history. The happiness is everywhere practically because in their eyes, justice had been served. Each person is entitled to their opinion, but there is no denying the affects of that day.
