Tran Nguyen’s Gorgeous New Paintings of Melancholy Girls

Roq La Rue gallery in Seattle, Washington is opening a brand new two-person show tomorrow night, or August 1st. It will feature the new works of artists Tran Nguyen and Jason Wheatley. Nguyen's exhibition is called ” A Place Procured From Our Yesteryears,” and it consists of paintings of beautiful girls with forlorn looks on their faces. All tinged with a slight sense of surrealism, the paintings show these giant melancholy beauties with their hair and clothes draped over buildings or with roofs on their heads.

The freelance illustrator has an interest in therapeutic imagery, or works that, according to Roq la Rue, “reveal a complex psychological current flowing beneath.” Just gorgeous.
