Sundresses Give Illusion of Warmth During Winter Solstice

Summer Will be Coming Soon is a light installation by Nata Khokhonova. During the winter solstice, when the maximum duration of night and day is the shortest, the Russian artist placed illuminated sundresses in one of the trees in the center of Ekaterinburg, Russia, reminding of the summer, the sun and the heat, which is climatically missing for resident of the Ural Mountains. On that day, December 12, 2012, the temperature was around 22C (-7.6F). For those people wrapped up hurrying through the dark and cold outside, it was a rather encouraging factor.
