Sammy and I decided to escape to the sea yesterday in search of some big fish. After researching local fishing reports, we decided to check out Marina Del Rey SportFishing Charters.

Arriving at the dock, we're anxious to get started!

The boat arrived and we went on board.

We hooked up our lines with jigs and added slabs of squid on our hooks.

We also used sardines as live bait.

One of our boatmates caught a Ling Cod..

and a White Fish..

but everyone mostly caught sculpin. After fishing was complete, deckhands filleted fish for everyone.

One of the best things about the whole experience was meeting some really friendly people. This is Rich. He's 89 and a World War II and Korean War fighter pilot. It was amazing to hear some of his stories.

The sea was calm and the skyline was beautiful.

Our boat, the
New Del Mar.

Overall, Sam and I had a blast. It's definitely not cheap, but I thought it was worth it for a day out in the ocean.
