This weekend, Sam and I took a quick weekend trip to one of our favorite cities, Las Vegas. We checked out an urban hot spot with some friends on Saturday night, Lavo inside the Palazzo Hotel. Created by the same team that brought TAO to the Venetian, Lavo has a Mediterranean bathhouse theme. In fact, Lavo is Latin for "to bathe or cleanse." All of the details were exquisite - the huge clay pots, antique copper bathtubs, glass tiles, Moroccan rugs, and Turkish water basins all lent itself to creating an amazing experience.
Walking around the ground floor you feel as though you've been transported into a different world. I loved the ornate chandeliers and the glass and wood elevated bridge that's lined with Turkish water basins. The faucets had running water that's constantly flowing!

Come to have an American/Mediterranean dinner prepared for you by the former Bastide and L'Orangerie chef, Ludovic Lefebvre, or just come for the club. If you like the look of Tao, you'll love Lavo.
