Freelance art director and graphic designer Vahram Muratyan lives between Paris and New York. As a result of his travels and his interest in the frequently visited cities, he began a blog that visually compares the similarities, both obvious and subtle, between the two major metropolises.
In the series, entitled Paris vs. New York: A Tally of Two Cities, Muratyan draws on everyday routines and customs to provide a quick cultural introduction to both places. Anyone unable to visit two of the world's most populated cities can learn all about the ways of life through this project. Muratyan explores everything from popular roads and parks to stylish fashions and trendy cocktails in his minimalist illustrations paired with clever French and English taglines.
We featured Muratyan's work as he first took note of fundamentals like food, architecture, and currency, and he has since gone more in depth, developing the series into an extensive collection of clever and colorful designs that can be purchased online as a 200+ page book or a set of 100 postcards.
