With theHOTEL, Palms and Hard Rock dominating the boutique hotel category in Las Vegas, is there room for more? Vdara, set to open on October 1st, hopes so. It is part of the $11 billion MGM Mirage CityCenter project that's unfolding in the latter half of this year. The 1,495-room boutique hotel is a non-gaming, non-smoking, all-suite hotel and spa that will cater to the design savvy.
The standard rooms also don't really impress me, maybe I'm just turned off by that mint green color. Interesting light fixtures, however.
The larger suites have a nice, clean and modern quality about them. Simple and a bit too bare perhaps, but I'm glad they didn't carry over the chaotic messy style of the lobby into these bedrooms.
Regardless, it's great to see more boutique style hotels pop up in Lost Wages. Other amenities of the hotel include a 16,000 square-foot, two-level spa...
a Gourmet Grocer, a shi shi grocery where they'll sell everything from artisan breads and feta stuffed olives to aged Gouda...
and a beautiful looking outdoor swimming pool area.
Also, Vdara will be adjacent to the new Cystals, CityCenter’s extraordinary retail, dining and entertainment district. Crystals will house elite brands such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & CO and Ermenegildo Zegna among others.
