Professional botanist Patrick Blanc creates spectacular gardens. However, what is truly unique about these green spaces is that each one is grows vertically. While on a trip to India, Blanc learned that as long as plants get enough water and light, they can grow virtually anywhere. Inspired, he returned back to his hometown of Paris and created his very first vertical garden. Nowadays, he sets up these spectacular sights on and in museums, restaurants, shops and a variety of other places. Each area uses specific plants that have the best growing rates, according to the climate. They all seem to be planted on a type of mounted scaffolding which allows them to grow vertically. Regardless, each one is magnificent and adds a breath of color into an otherwise drab and gray urban environment.
