Enormous Cruise Ship Light Projection

There's just a few days left to enjoy Vivid Sydney, the must-see festival of light, music and ideas in Sydney, Australia. Unfortunately, you won't be able to witness this stunning spectacle because it was only there the first two nights, or May 24 and May 25. On a cruise itinerary planned over two years ago, P&O Cruises' superliner Pacific Pearl became a temporary canvas, the first time ever an actual cruise ship has been a part of Vivid.

Perfectly timed for the start of the 18-day annual winter festival, Pacific Pearl docked at Circular Quay and then put on a dazzling show, projecting images of the sea and islands on her side. Called Sea Voyage, the five minute projection ran 30 minutes from 6pm to midnight.

The 2,000 New Zealand visitors on board the ship not only got a unique front row view of the projection, they were able to take in the first two nights of the festival and enjoy all that the city has to offer.

Being there first-hand, I have to say, this was one of the highlights of our whole trip. When do you ever get to see a cruise ship lit up like this? Make sure to watch the video, below.
