Landscape Oils Paintings Reveal the Seasonal Passing of Time

It didn't take very long for Vietnamese artist Vu Cong Dien to be recognized for his carefully produced oil paintings. Within a few years, Dien's nature-inspired landscape paintings could be found at several galleries across the globe. Revered for the methodical approach and the often monochromatic color scheme present in each painting, the artist's body of work has a signature style that is both pleasant and clearly disciplined. Like nature and time, there is a pattern to his works, best represented by his primary subject—trees. Dien's landscapes belong to the trees.

The artist says "I ran towards Nature as if I was looking for a serene harbour in which my mind could roam in boundless grasslands and hilly slopes that stretch to the horizon. I move sluggishly in the Nature’s Zen realm where I could apparently immerse myself in an ocean of feelings and emotions to taste them piecemeal and then express them in my painting. One day, I suddenly realised that the creator had borne men with all the living creatures, flowers and vegetation to ultimately integrate them into one entity."
