Whimsical Art Installation at Art Basel Miami

We've been asked a few times if My Modern Met will be covering Art Basel this year. Though we'd love to check out all of the amazing art, due to time constraints, we're skipping it this year. One reason why I'd personally love to go is to see Friends With You's outdoor installation called Rainbow City. It's a forty piece wonderland that's inspired by Holi, a colorful spring religious festival celebrated by hindus. The air-filled sculptures will no doubt be the talk of the town, as they tower over visitors at heights that range from ten to forty feet.

The surreal installation will even have sound elements to enhance their visitors' experience. Wild! They're projecting that 20,000 people will walk through Rainbow City between December 3rd and December 5th.
