Back in March 2010, I was first introduced to Swedish artist Johan Thörnqvist through Met member Ivan. Thörnqvist's work reminded me of Russian artist Dmitry Maximov in that both beautifully blur the line between reality and fiction.

These whimsical works start with a photo and then Thörnqvist draws in lines using his Wiacom Cintiq and Photoshop. He then adds in colors and shadows. Did you know that each piece can have up to 50 layers of colors and textures! Look at all the little lines and the background tones to really appreciate these pieces...
