My Modern Metropolis

Whitehorse Street Development, London UK

Today I checked out e-architect and saw this elegant street development by London's Studio Seilern Architects on an extremely challenging site base (424 sq m). They are given a space where it is wrapped around with 3 buildings from the 60's, forming a hole that creates the issue of not receiving natural lights at the bottom. Studio Seilern Architects designed the building to be lifted off the ground that form a space that serves as a garden lobby, so residents will enter through a giant garden as they approach the center of the "hole".

This building will serve 9 residential and 10 service apartments, and is in a hope of becoming a high-end property. It's going to start building in November 2010- approx May 2012. This may be one of my favorite residential buildings, I'll definitely keep an eye on it. :)
