Art Installation With Live Human as Sculptures Seems To Break the Laws of Physics

If you’ve ever been to a figure drawing class or sat for an artist, you’ll know how challenging it can be to hold a pose for several minutes. Now imagine holding that pose for several hours while seemingly floating in mid-air. In his exhibition called In Just a Blink of an Eye, artist Xu Zhen brought this surreal image to life, with a group of performers appearing to defy gravity, frozen in time and space.

Es Devlin’s London Retrospective Has a Rotating Rainbow Library of 2,000 Books

British artist and designer Es Devlin is known for creating imaginative worlds where sculpture, stage design, music, literature, and light come together. In celebration of her 30-year career, the Es Devlin: Other Worlds retrospective at The Design Museum in London features artworks, installations, and film, making it her largest solo exhibition to date. The immersive showcase includes Devlin’s mesmerizing Infinite Library, a rotating 26-foot-wide triangular shelf housing more than 2,000 books.

380,000 Colorful LEGO Flowers Seem To Spill From an Art Center in Shanghai

LEGO Group’s in-house advertising agency, known as Our LEGO Agency, has transformed an old industrial site in Shanghai with a wave of color. The creative team took over the Tank Shanghai Art Center, located in a group of former aviation fuel tanks, with a campaign titled Botanical Wave. Comprising 380,000 LEGO flowers and plant pieces, the project goes beyond a towering installation, sending a message about the creative possibilities of these building blocks.

Hundreds of Floating Porcelain Bowls Turn Water Into Music in Outdoor Athens Installation

Hundreds of white porcelain bowls drift across deep-blue pools, slowly approaching one another before meeting with a delicate chime. French artist and composer Céleste Boursier-Mougenot’s clinamen transforms these everyday objects into a constantly changing musical instrument. For its latest presentation, the installation moves outdoors for the first time, filling Athens’s historic Onassis Mandra. The historic venue dates back to the Belle Époque era (1871–1914) and is the only surviving open-air Athenian theater from the period.
