This fascinating collection of moths, butterflies, and insects is actually handmade works of art created by North Carolina-based Japanese artist Yumi Okita. The beautifully crafted sculptures are filled with amazing details and delicate patterns that are constructed from cotton, faux fur, wire, feather, fabric paints, and embroidery thread.

To produce each gorgeous piece, Okita pays close attention to details, building layers of wings that sit proportionally with bodies, and including smaller elements like eyes, legs, and antennas. Other than the size—each piece averages about half a foot tall and almost a foot wide—the playful creatures have a bit of a realistic feel. Okita sells all of her creations through her Etsy shop, and she includes a wire hook on the underside of the sculptures so that you can prominently display any of your favorite large bugs on your walls at home.
