While a good photographer should always keep the basics in mind, a great shot mostly consists of being at the right place at the right time. This set is dedicated to those photographers who went to the zoo and were patient or lucky enough to capture animals in a beautiful or unique way. They're the ones who make us stop and think about how we share this earth. The ones who capture an animal's essence in such a way that words just don't do the picture justice.

The meerkat (?) grabbing for the dragonfly is so perfect. Is it my imagination or have I seen a few of these photos on cheesy inspirational posters? So who's going to add creative captions to these?

Fantastic post!! One of my favourites here on the Met! :DDD I really really find the Hippo pic funny, as well as your personal pic! Haha! I had a close encounter with an animal too. Really friendly! :P And nippy. Kept nipping my fingers! :P
