FAME, 2009, Naturi Naughton?
I just saw the new Fame (2009) trailer and immediately went to find this new version of the classic Irene Cara theme song. The remake of my favorite musical in the world comes with bittersweet enthusiasm: I think there is nothing better than the stage version and despise how everything must be turned into a movie (or a remake of a movie) but I am inspired by the talent shown in just these few clips and look forward to seeing it on the big screen. I found this video on a site that claims that Naturi Naughton (of 3LW and "Notorious" fame) is singing this track. Though she is definitely cast in the film, the question of whether or not these are her vocals is up in the air. The video feed is from the trailer - so enjoy!
