Ceramic Stories – Kim Simonsson

“Guardian Angel”

Kim Simonsoon is a young Finnish sculptor who lives in Helsinki. He makes striking ceramic sculptures of cute, big-eyed young girls and deer, derived from Japanese manga comics. His work questions the role of the child and nature in the modern world.

“Authority in its' many forms fascinates me and in my works I want to reverse the common beliefs by making the weak powerful.” (Kim Simonsson)
