Magisso, known for their unique product designs, recently won the 2011 Red Dot Design Award. With the Tipping Teacup's innovative and creative qualities, there is no doubt that Magisso deserved the 2011 title.

So what makes this little teacup particularly useful and unique? Rather than resting flat on a surface, the teacup rests at an angle due to its triangular-shaped base. This allows the unique bottom to sit in two different positions.

Using the Tipping Teacup is simple. Place loose leaves (although tea bags do work) into the teacup's screened compartment and pour hot water over the leaves. This allows the water to steep as it passes through the screen. When the tea has filtered enough, set the teacup to sit in the other direction, separating the tea from the water completely.

The Tipping Teacup is machine washable and the screen is removable for easy cleaning. Purchase is available at Uncommon Goods for $20.

I love it!! I like re-adding hot water to my cup to get the most out of the leaves. This would definitely help regulate the strength of my tea. Thanks for the post!
