Photographer Daniella Zalcman recently moved from New York to London. She says, "They’re both places I adore, and (in my opinion) they’re two of the most photogenic cities in the world." As a result, she decided to produce this series of work in which the two cities visually overlap in layers of time and space. The series blurs the lines of geography, architecture, and people, in an elegant blend of lines and shapes.
To create New York + London, Zalcman first took 30 days of iPhone images before leaving New York. Upon arrival in London, she continued to photograph, documenting her first experiences in her new hometown. The lingering memories of Zalcman's time in New York perfectly mix with every new step she takes in London. The ghostly double exposures provide a new perspective of the two very iconic cities, although viewers may still find themselves trying to distinguish the differences between the two cities within each photograph. Zalcman's personal love letter to New York and London can be purchased in a limited edition book, which can be found here on Kickstarter.
