Care to drinks with some Hobbits? Though this may have sounded like a silly pipe dream just a month ago, it's become a wonderful possibility today. The New Zealand pub, inspired by the beloved Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series, offers fans "a place to drink, a place to meet, a place to rest your hairy feet."
Art director and project manager Brian Massey led the construction of the Green Dragon Pub, and a team of 80 laborers assisted in adding the themed attraction to the beautiful stretch of land. Located at Hobbiton near Matamata, the bar was just recently opened to the public in a special ribbon cutting ceremony led by the country's Prime Minister John Key.
This isn't the first real-life attraction in New Zealand dedicated to the series. Just last month, we got a glimpse of New Zealand's Wellington Airport, which was transformed to include a giant, hungry Gollum reaching for some delicious fish.
