Hope Inspiring Street Art

German street art duo Hera and Akut, also known as Herakut, just completed their journey in Los Angeles by putting up a new mural directly across the street from Manual Arts High School. Aspiring art teacher Mark Ayala organized the piece, which turned out beautifully. The previous week, they put up another wonderful mural in LA (see Feathery Street Art). This time around, fellow Ma'claim crew member Case assisted in the making.

As is their tradition, Herakut put the finishing touches on the mural with a hand-sprayed message: “Anything can be beautiful when you look at it with love.” Hera, the female street artist of the group, feels that the whole purpose of their art is to convey a meaning and viewpoint. It's to offer hope to the struggling high schoolers as well as those who just happen to pass by.
