A well-known photographic journalist, Gardi took the impressive shots for Foreign Policy Magazine during his five month stay in Helmand, one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Beginning September 2010, he documented the war in the most intimate way possible. These photos provide a more detailed look into where we are fighting.
