Wearable Device Allows Long-Distance Loved Ones to Feel Each Other’s Heartbeat in Real-Time

Joanna Montgomery (of design company Little Riot) wants to help loved ones feel connected even when they're separated by considerable distances. To do so, she designed the Pillow Talk–a wearable device that uses a sensor to capture your heartbeat and then play it through a speaker for your loved one to hear/feel. Using a smartphone, two Pillow Talk devices can be paired together so couples can listen to each other's heartbeats in real-time. All you have to do is wear the comfortable wristband (which contains the removable sensor), place the speaker under your pillow, and allow this innovative technology to help you feel closer to someone who's miles and miles away. Even when you're on-the-go, you can use the Pillow Talk app to hear a loved one's heartbeat through your headphones.
