Sculptor Kevin Iris has been making these tree sculptures for more than 23 years and he is quite the expert! The staggering beauty of these trees is the result of hundreds of hours spent bending and twisting aluminum alloy wire combined with loads of patience. He starts with many feet of the wire and, for long-lasting value, Iris does not add any glue, coatings, or foreign substances to his work.

The trees vary in size and shape as the artist strives to inspire different emotions through his sculptures. The amount of time and dedication to each sculpture is astounding! When speaking about the tree in the second photo, Iris said, “I average about 26 leaves per strand so I have about 10,062 leaves up there on the top. This [22-inch wide] tree took about 450 hours or so of hands on twisting wire time over four months.”
