My Modern Metropolis

Artist David T. Waller used 2,500 old toy cars to create Toy Atlas Rainbow, a beautiful installation that won the People’s Award at the Arts Depot Open in 2010. The cars in the installation are arranged in a circular pattern according to their color, making a beautiful rainbow out of Hot Wheels cars. It is clear that a lot of time and effort went into constructing the installation, as the cars are not only separated by color but they are also carefully organized to make a gradient - going from light to dark. For example, light blue cars are separated from the dark blues ones. Check out Waller's website for more stunning artwork. His pieces consist of a variety of mediums and techniques both from fine art and free-form approaches.
