What do you get when you pair one of Ireland's top portrait photographers with old teddy bears? An adorable series! Award-winning photographer Mark Nixon has created a set of whimsical portraits of stuffed animals that have been loved (maybe a little too much). While some look a little sad, you've got to believe that, on the inside, these bears are beaming with joy. The well-worn but well-loved stuffed animals have had their fur mangled and their parts come off because of years and years of play!

What kind of memories do they conjure up for you? I like what the author states, "When you see these teddy bears and bunnies with missing noses and undone stuffing, you can’t help but think back to childhood and its earliest companions who asked for nothing and gave a lot back."

  • Interesting to view this in contrast to Mike Kelley's "More Love Hours Than The Heart Can Ever Repay," which, to my mind, took a more sinister view of beloved stuffed animals. I think I prefer Nixon's version.
