My Modern Metropolis

Design lovers rejoice! If you're looking for something unique and interesting, you've come to the right place. Italy native Paola Pivi created Nice Ball, a lamp made entirely from 80 miniature chairs and tables representing the iconic furniture designs from the Vitra Design Museum collection. When lit, the light bulb within the sphere projects a silhouette of the furniture, which allows the viewer to experience Vitra’s designs both in 2D and 3D.

The lamp is currently on display within the Vitrine at the Museo del Novecento in Milan through June 30th, 2011.
