My Modern Metropolis

If you have ever wondered what the end of the world might look like, take a look at this series Precipitates by collage artist Pablo Genoves! In his work, he takes catastrophic destruction and transforms it into spectacular moments that we can gaze upon in awe. By using old prints of interior spaces like museums, theaters, and churches, Genoves creates a tension between the strength and symbolic power of a space in contrast with the powerful capabilities of nature.

The final results of his digital constructions are both seemingly real and obviously manipulated. Even with this knowledge of artificial reality, the viewer gets swept away into Geonves’s brilliant concoctions of unfathomable catastrophe and destruction.
