Retired Senior Citizens Playfully Recreate Movie Scenes

James Bond: Wilhelm Buiting, 89

Retired senior citizens at a nursing home in Germany have creatively banded together and taken on the role of their lives as they recreate twelve famous movie scenes for a calendar. Classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany's and The Seven Year Itch are revitalized by the young-at-heart seniors of the Contilia Retirement Group in Essen, Germany, proving that age is just a number.

The group serving as models in the whimsical project, ranging from 76 to 98 years old, playfully dress up as movie stars from their famed roles with the help of a professional photographer from Gladbeck, some stylists, and props, clothes, and accessories supplied by a costume shop. All of the nursing home residents involved in the project were given the opportunity to feel like glamorous Hollywood stars on a shoot and in the end, they managed to produce a calendar that has captured hearts worldwide.

There were reportedly 5,000 calendars printed and distributed throughout the nursing home for residents, employees, and family members. There are no plans, as of yet, to reprint them for wider distribution.
