Sculptural Chandeliers Accented With Real Dandelion Seeds

Entitled Fragile Future III, these highly sculptural light fixtures are made of bronze, LED's and real dandelion seeds that were meticulously picked by hand and then connected one by one to the lights. The Dutch artists Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta of Studio Drift strive to promote critical engagement through their conceptual work and the use of this labor-intensive process is a clear statement against mass production and throwaway culture.

Founded in 2006, Studio Drift mixes dreamy and poetic visuals with hi-tech design to explore the relationship between nature, technology and mankind. They have collaborated with scientists, university departments, research facilities, programmers and engineers in order to produce their innovative projects that are both technically advanced and aesthetically beautiful.
