Magical Tokyo Cityscapes Seen Through Colorful Bokeh

In this ongoing series, photographer Takashi Kitajima blurs the details of Tokyo's buildings and bridges into beautifully abstract landscapes. He creates each gorgeous composition by standing on observation decks of high-rise buildings or overpasses throughout the city.

By gaining a bird's eye view of the urban landscape, Kitajima creates magical scenes where single, distinct objects are surrounded by a stunning blur of bokeh. The glowing dots of light create fields of color that lead directly to Kitajima's single points of focus. Through his creative techniques, the artist transforms simple urban scenes into magically radiant worlds of light and color.
