Vintage Superhero Illustrations (7 total)

Inspired by Bruce Timm's angular and simplified style character designs in Batman: The Animated Series, Illinois-based illustrator Mike Myers has created a very cool set of vintage superhero illustrations.

"I really really love imagery that can express an idea without overdoing it visually," he tell us. "I'm a huge fan of Olly Moss, who has been really making a name for himself with some wonderful design work, most of which I would consider to be minimalist design."

Watch for DC villains and Marvel comic book characters sometime in the near future!

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that I like it without faces. :) I can see where you are coming from though. Thanks for commenting :)
  • or at least have a shadow over the face or something
  • like the superman and wonder woman ones i dont like, they seem incomplete to me. unless mike cant draw faces and it would have ruined the picture then it makes sense to leave them out (something i would do haha)
  • @Matthew-It adds to the picture as a whole, don't you think?
  • so why dont they have faces?
  • @Ryan Thanks, buddy! Glad you enjoy them....they're pretty sweet.
  • I love these rustic and well defined collection of my favorite super heroes! If you are looking for Batman or Captain America, you need to go to Michael Myers website. Great find, Alice!
  • There is definitely a retro feel to these. I love Wonder Woman!! :) Thanks for sharing!
