Playful Scenes Feature Miniature Toy People Living in Large Edible Worlds

Food is not just for eating according to William Kass. The inventive photographer sees all kinds of nourishment as the backdrop for his adventurous miniature scenes. Minimize–Food is an ongoing series in which corn cobs are transformed into mountain peaks for climbers to conquer, orange slices are the perfect cool spot to lay out in the sun, and kale leaves curl up into the perfect waves for surfers.

Kass's imagination comes to life throughout the extensive still life series. The backgrounds, lighting, colors, and strong depth of field produce the sensation that viewers are actually peering in on an actual moment. However, upon second glance, the details of the fruits and veggies, as well as the obviously plastic little faces, reveal the truth about the playful little creations.
